JMI Planning worked alongside Mathew Montague to navigate the reserved matters process for the 1.9ha site which gained outline permission at appeal in 2019. The vision was to deliver 30 self and custom build plots which would be designed to the highest quality with architecturally advanced design alongside design solutions which reflect the wider aspiration to create a National Forest character throughout the site.
Each property would have a bespoke design which has been through a rigorous design analysis in accordance with the development Design Code. The layout of the site (including surface materials, green areas, planting and access routes) also incorporates innovative site plan design based on a robust site appraisal which considered a number of layout plans. Environmental and sustainable design initiatives have been incorporated throughout the design such as the siting and orientation of the properties to ensure solar gain and solar shielding whilst also paying close attention to the proposal’s environmental impacts and ways in which the development could encourage wildlife to the site.
JMI Planning’s role in the development involved providing planning advise on all aspects of the proposal including liaising with the Architects, advising the client/developer and negotiating with various Council representatives and Government bodies.
